Tadaaaaa .... this is exactly how I looked like at my last 10km race for Brooks Half Marathon in Bukit Jalil. The cool part is the organizer ... decided to put this picture in the cert. A cool effort by the the team and definitely a first. :)

Malakoff in Bukit Kiara. It's about 2 weeks from now. A 12 km run ... errkkk! Since this is the last race I am entering this year ... I should make it the best .. right? Last time I tried doing 12 km was in 1 hour and 37 minutes (Shape Night Run) ... I even surprisde myself with the timing but I did run hard that night. So, I wouldn't wanna fall behind that timing.
Hmmm ... I'm targeting to finish this last race at 1 hour 30 minutes. Looks like an achievable target to me! So, I've 2 more weeks to train for this ... wish me luck! Alright. I've just registered for KL Marathon. 10 km. Phew! Annndddd ... take a look at my estimated time for the race .. Pergghhh! Ini memang statement berani mati! ! jam jer. For me to accomplish this ... is to run each 1 km in 6 minutes. My best pace now is 7.58 min/km. Huaaaaaaa .. how am I going to run 6 min/km non stop for 10 km race?
That's what I'll continue to do next year. Already have 2 upcoming race that I'll be joining next year. I bought a new pair of running shoes recently from New Balance. The moment I started running in them ... I knew they were a perfect pair for me. Never knew that New Balance made such a good running shoes. Slightly lighter than my Nike LunarGlide and much more breathable. I simply love running in them! The down side of it was ... it doesn't support Nike+ (for the obvious reasons. Ngeheheh) So what did I do to continue using Nike+ on my New Balance shoes? Ehem, I had to do a little improvisation and the results was .. tadaaaa! I slid the Nike+ sensor in between the shoelace and secure it with a cellophane tape around it. (Yea, yea call me brilliant :P) This sensor was in fact my 2nd one. The first one I initially had was lost when I didn't secure the tape over it properly. :(
Oooohh, and I've recorded a total of 160.92 km of runs this year! I've actually ran much more than that and that was before I had started using the Nike+ Sportsband. Here's to more runs next year! HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL! MAY 2011 BE A GOOD YEAR FOR ALL OF YOU!!! Erk, I have 14 days to practice for my first 10k run. Arrrrgh! I'm not there yet. Ok, ok ... don't panic. Let's do a 8k run today after work. Hopefully the sky won't pour its content today.
I've been scared and excited for this Nike City 10k race on 10.10.10. (Awesome number!). Excited, because it's my first go at 10k. Scared, because I haven't practice hard enough. I blame it aaaaaall on the rain. (Alasan!) Speaking of this Nike City 10k race in KL, I don't see the details being updated on Nike's website. (It is either I don't know how to search for the info on the web or there weren't further updates about the run at all). The information that I've gathered so far was from bloggers who were lucky enough to cover the Nike media launch held at Nike Pavillion recently. I got the running map and the venue for the collection of the race kit allll from other blogs. Hmm. Ok, I gotta go and gather a few supporters for me on that day! Go Green Run in Damansara this morning was a success. I managed to finish 7.5 km run in 76 minutes which is not bad for a beginner like me, I guess. I targeted to finish it in one hour but finishing it in 76 minutes is already an achievement for me.
Now, my whole body is aching. Haha. Aaaaaall my muscles are screaming in pain! My gosh, this was only 7.5 km! That's alright .. I think. My body will get use to it with more training. But the most important thing is ... I finish my run in one piece! My next 5 km run will be at end of next month. I'm hoping to clock it in 40 minutes or less. Wish me luck! |
