I'm heading down to Kuantan this weekend. Finally, a chance for me to get out of the KL for a while.

I was exited to know a happening in Capsquare related to Earth Hour yesterday. Finally something more is done other than switching off the lights for 60 minutes. There were suppose to be an eco bazaar, Earth Hour Walk (cool!) and brass band performance at Capsquare. Supposedly the eco bazaar starts as 10 am till 10 pm. Then the Earth Hour Walk at around 730 pm.
As I'm reading the Internet for all of these info yesterday, I sent texts to some friends to come along with me. Only Kuma was free to tag along. So, there we went and arrived at Capsquare at around 6 pm. Funnily enough, nothing happening can be seen. Capsquare was very relax and quiet as it normally does at that hour. So, both Kuma and me tawaf the whole block ... for a few rounds. Still nothing. Weird. Eventually, Kuma asked the security guard there then I heard the work cancel. What? DBKL didn't give the permit. What? Awww ... that's just too bad, ain't it. We're there and a few others (the guard said there were few others before us asking him the same questions since morning) for a good cause and DBKL decided to give the red tape at the last minute. What a bummer! So, finally off we went to Pavillion (starving). Had dinner at TGI Fridays and the lights at the premise switched off at 830 pm. So, that was my Earth Hour for 2010. I guesss I've to finally realized that running will continue to hurt my knees. Sob, Sob! Bye bye, my running shoes. You have served me well. I might not use you as often as I used to. I lluuurrve running ... but my knees obviously can't take the impact during the process anymore. So, if I can't run ... what am I gonna do to sweat it out? I can't just start being a potato couch just because I can't run no more. Right? After some thought on this ... I've got a perrrrrfect and brilliant idea. I'm switching to cycling which doesn't have much impact on my knees. Yay! Bad news is, my sister's MTB (mountain bike) is in a bad, baadd state. It hadn't been used for almost 10 years. The frame is still in a good condition but I can't say that to the rest of the parts. I'm not going to fix it, not a chance! Haha. So, I'm thinking to buy a bicycle of my own. Then, I had another brilliant idea. Why don't I just buy a spin bike? Ya' know the one that you'll get to see at the gym especially the one in the spin studio. Yerp, I'm looking for this ... although not exactly the same model. So, I went to the fitness store near my house yesterday to look for one. I found two models there. The sales girl was very friendly and let me have a go on one. She even mentioned the one that I tried (the more expensive of the two) was the same as the one that they supplied to Celebrity Fitness. I've been to CF but I haven't had a peek into their spin studio to check the bike but I'm sure she didn't lie about it tho'. Hehe.
Did I bought the spin machine? No. Because the price is RM4280 and even the less expensive one is tagged at around RM2k. The price is hardly surprising tho'. It'll be soooo convenient to have one at home. I'm pretty sure I already grabbed one if I can afford it. (read: paying it in cash) Looks like I'm resorting to buy a MTB after all. Heheh! The moment I'm in the office ... I started to count the hour to go back home. I can't wait for my break time. I can't wait to go back home.
I keep counting and counting from Monday to Friday. I stopped on weekends. Then the counting starts again when I reached my cubicle in the office. Somehow this counting makes the hours I spent in the office a bit bearable. Am I weird or what? The actual video clip of Adam Lambert. The parody. Kesha's actual video clip. And her parody. Oh, this one is cool too. Oh well ... I forgot that I have a blog :)
I think this year I have to really freeze all my budgets for any vacation. Like … strictly noooo budget for it not even a short weekend trip. (Oh oh) Reason being … I kept paying and paying my credit card bills but didn’t manage to clear it off. That means four words … I’m always in debt. I’m tired and sick of it really. So, I’m going to do this desperate measure to stop all this nonsense about paying something that never seems to end. Good news is one of my many cards will be paid in full when I received my pay this month. Yay! So, I only have 2 more cards to clear. Can’t wait for my salary to be credited so I can go down to the bank and pay for the full balance and cut up the plastic. Yay, yay! The best 1 and 1/2 hrs of my life for last week happened on Saturday. My friends and I went to ATV Park in Kemensah, Ulu Kelang to ... well try our hands on riding ATV. ATV stands for all-terrain vehicle. As the name suggested ... we did rode it on almost all terrain! It was indeed a thrilling trip!
The road to reach the ATV Park in Kemensah is very easy ... as long as you know where Zoo negara is. Just drive along the road beside Zoo Negara ... this road will lead up STRAIGHT to the ATV Park inside Kemensah. (The only turn you'll make is when you reach the ATV park) Once you have passed Zoo Negara it will take another 5- 10 minutes or so to reach the site. If you're not sure just look up for a yellow sign board with the word ATV on it (there are a few such signboards along the way) and you will not get lost inside Kemensah. Hehe. Once you reached the place, just park your car at the road side and walk up to the park on your left. Btw, if you car is lowered, do not drive it there. You'll be sorry if you still bring it due to a lot of bumpers along the road. Considered yourself warned! Basically there are a few packages that you can choose from. It really depends on the cash in your pocket and how far you're wiling to go and the time you have. (the further you go the more time you spent on ATV ... more money flies out of your pocket! ) When I say cash, I really meant cold hard cash, as they don't accept credit cards. Heck, they don't even have electricity to plug in the terminal! Even the water in the toilet is taken from the nearby stream. That's how "outdoor" the place really is. But the toilet provided is clean and it includes shower too. Although I never asked but I think you can shower there for free. Please ask the operator there first before you enjoy your fresh water shower, ok? After a short discussion, we all decided to went ahead with a 1 and 1/2 hour ride to the Kemensah Waterfall through the jungle. Actually the journey to and fro took 1 hour and the extra 30 minutes were spent to cool ourselves down at the waterfall. Oh, forgot to mention that the place only offer ATV from E-Ton, very user friendly and easy to handle kinda ATV. Even for a first time user like me ... I don't have any problem riding one from the word go. Hehe. We were given a short briefing by the guide on how to operate the ATV before you jump on one. Then, we were be taken to a training track to make a few rounds to get ourselves used to driving the ATV on the uneven terrain there. Once you are comfortable then the real journey will start. We went out tailing our 2 guides. The whole ride was fun, fun and fun aaaalll the way! No kidding! We were lucky as the dirt road is quite dry hence it's not too slippery ... made it easier for us to climb up the 45 degrees hill. Mind you we had to climb 2 hills like that! All was okay until I got stuck half way up on a some rocks. Thank god the guide were there to help me ... I just need to slide down a bit ... a few times before I was "unstuck" and move my way up again. Yay! I expected leeches will be a slight problem in this area especially if it rains the night before. So, do pack on a pair of long socks just in case the dirt road is wet to avoid leeches. I personally find this activity is completely safe if you are aware of your surroundings and very careful in accelerating the ATV. There are possibilities to fall off track into the bushes a few feet below ... ONLY if you're reckless with the ATV. So far, no such injury were known to happen. But still, accident can occur, so be careful. Jadilah pemandu ATV yang berhemah ya! Hehe. And watch your head too! If anyone is interested please visit the website here. Do place your booking before you embark on your journey there. Have fun coz I really did! Enjoy the pictures below. It'll tell you more. |
