The road to reach the ATV Park in Kemensah is very easy ... as long as you know where Zoo negara is. Just drive along the road beside Zoo Negara ... this road will lead up STRAIGHT to the ATV Park inside Kemensah. (The only turn you'll make is when you reach the ATV park) Once you have passed Zoo Negara it will take another 5- 10 minutes or so to reach the site. If you're not sure just look up for a yellow sign board with the word ATV on it (there are a few such signboards along the way) and you will not get lost inside Kemensah. Hehe. Once you reached the place, just park your car at the road side and walk up to the park on your left. Btw, if you car is lowered, do not drive it there. You'll be sorry if you still bring it due to a lot of bumpers along the road. Considered yourself warned!
Basically there are a few packages that you can choose from. It really depends on the cash in your pocket and how far you're wiling to go and the time you have. (the further you go the more time you spent on ATV ... more money flies out of your pocket! ) When I say cash, I really meant cold hard cash, as they don't accept credit cards. Heck, they don't even have electricity to plug in the terminal! Even the water in the toilet is taken from the nearby stream. That's how "outdoor" the place really is. But the toilet provided is clean and it includes shower too. Although I never asked but I think you can shower there for free. Please ask the operator there first before you enjoy your fresh water shower, ok?
After a short discussion, we all decided to went ahead with a 1 and 1/2 hour ride to the Kemensah Waterfall through the jungle. Actually the journey to and fro took 1 hour and the extra 30 minutes were spent to cool ourselves down at the waterfall. Oh, forgot to mention that the place only offer ATV from E-Ton, very user friendly and easy to handle kinda ATV. Even for a first time user like me ... I don't have any problem riding one from the word go. Hehe. We were given a short briefing by the guide on how to operate the ATV before you jump on one. Then, we were be taken to a training track to make a few rounds to get ourselves used to driving the ATV on the uneven terrain there. Once you are comfortable then the real journey will start.
We went out tailing our 2 guides. The whole ride was fun, fun and fun aaaalll the way! No kidding! We were lucky as the dirt road is quite dry hence it's not too slippery ... made it easier for us to climb up the 45 degrees hill. Mind you we had to climb 2 hills like that! All was okay until I got stuck half way up on a some rocks. Thank god the guide were there to help me ... I just need to slide down a bit ... a few times before I was "unstuck" and move my way up again. Yay! I expected leeches will be a slight problem in this area especially if it rains the night before. So, do pack on a pair of long socks just in case the dirt road is wet to avoid leeches.
I personally find this activity is completely safe if you are aware of your surroundings and very careful in accelerating the ATV. There are possibilities to fall off track into the bushes a few feet below ... ONLY if you're reckless with the ATV. So far, no such injury were known to happen. But still, accident can occur, so be careful. Jadilah pemandu ATV yang berhemah ya! Hehe. And watch your head too!
