I know sooner or later she's gonna say the word that I've dreaded. That I'm "senyap". Senyap in a sense that there hasn't been much or close to no updates from me in Facebook. I just smiled when she mentioned that.
Truth is, I don't see myself pronouncing my status openly in a social website like Facebook. I don't see a point of doing so. Perhaps, I don't have much "real" friends in there. If I do make some sort of statements in Facebook maybe a good 2-3 friends will respond out of 160 (roughly) friends I have "listed". So, why bother updating my statuses. Secondly, I don't know why I need to tell to my list of friends what I'm currently listening to, currently doing or are planning to do. I might have done so in the past but I've stopped doing it as I don't see how that can benefit me or my friends. Besides some of it were personal information. Call me paranoid but I'm not comfortable when people whom I rarely met or haven't met in ages knows where I'm going or currently doing. That's creepy!
Sure you can set your privacy settings in Facebook even to your status's updates. But it is tooo troublesome to change the settings every time you want to specifically target a certain group of friends. I believe in the power of one click. If I can't do it in one click ... then I'll abandon the whole thing. Easy!
So, to you guys who feels that I'm shying away. Don't be! I'm just a phone call away if you want to know what I'm up to. Or just text me ... that's even cheaper!
Otherwise, I'm just happy reading your statuses in Facebook but don't expect me to "voice" out much.
